The Gold Standard of transplant Surgery
Follicular unit hair transplantation (FUT) is the only method available to create hair that looks completely natural. Hair is transplanted exactly as it grows: one follicular unit at a time.
The key to successful FUT is to identify a patients natural hair groupings, remove a strip of donor hair, dissect, the donor strip into follicular units from surrounding tissue, and then placing these units in the patient’s recipient site(tiny, strategically made scalp incisions). Experienced surgical technicians painstakingly dissect and trim the follicular units for placement. Microscopes are used during this process because magnification results in a much better yield of follicular units for transplant. Donor Hair is a limited source, and managing the dissection process is critical to the outcome. The final step in the procedure is the gentle, artful placement of the follicular units into the recipient sites, guided by the patient’s natural pattern of hair growth.
